Routing (Part One)
15-16th Dec 2012 - The 11th and 12th meeting dealed with routing. How to go around in the board towards a destination.
Going blindly setback
The first approach to routing was done with using weights on the cells, giving a weight to cells visited and another weight to cells still unknown. But that was a bit as wandering around in the dark cave, without a plan. And in case of the distance started getting higher instead of going down, it would favor going back in the route. We studied a case where the butter would be just next to the robot, but having barriers all the way down the corridor. This algorithm would fail. It wouldn't reach the end of the corridor.
